Today we were taught some basic skills which were to look straight a head instead of looking at the person who says go, use light feet, run in a straight line, stand straight, bend your arms and cheek to cheek which is then you move your arms from the side of your face to the side of your leg. We learnt that for sprints the starter says on your mark, set, go and on long distance the starter says on your mark, go. the way to get ready for sprints you need to stand back one meter from the line, when the starter says on your mark you move one leg forward and squish the bug, which means to wriggle your foot so it comes up to the line, not passing it but just behind it, when the starter says set, you bend your knees and lift your back heel up off the ground, and wait for them to say go.
We all had a lot of fun learning how to start a race properly. I really liked the way you joined in and listened carefully to what Andy was telling you. Which activity was your favourite? Mine was the game at the end.
